Why We Built Knockout Golf Differently

Golf is already hard enough.

Yet most golfers carry three or four wedges that require slightly different setups, ball positions, and swings.

We thought there might be a simpler way.

That’s one of the reasons we created Knockout Golf and built our 50°, 54°, and 58° wedges to the exact same 35.25-inch length.

But are same length wedges actually better?

For some golfers, we think they can make a lot of sense.

What Are Same Length Wedges?

Traditional wedge sets typically get slightly shorter as loft increases. Your gap wedge may be longer than your sand wedge, which may be longer than your lob wedge.

The differences aren't huge, but they're there.

Same length wedges take a different approach.

Instead of changing the club length as loft changes, all three Knockout wedges are 35.25 inches long.

That means you can address the ball with a more consistent setup from wedge to wedge.

Different loft. Same length. Same setup. Same swing.

That's the idea.

Why Would You Want All Your Wedges the Same Length?

Think about a typical round.

You smash your drive and have 86 yards left.

Now you have to hit a shot close enough to give yourself a real chance at birdie.

This is where a lot of amateur golfers struggle.

It's not because they don't understand golf. It's because wedge shots require confidence and consistency, and small changes can create big misses.

We wanted our wedges to eliminate one variable.

When your 50°, 54°, and 58° wedges are all the same length, you don't have to adjust to a different club length every time you pull another wedge from the bag.

The goal is simple:

Train one setup. Trust it with all three wedges.

Same Length Doesn't Mean the Wedges Are the Same

This is important.

Making three clubs the same length doesn't mean making three identical clubs.

The lofts still create different trajectories and allow you to hit different shots.

Your 50° can handle fuller approaches and lower shots. Your 54° gives you another option around the green and from the sand. Your 58° gives you additional loft when you need to get the ball up quickly.

You're still choosing the right loft for the shot.

You're just doing it with a more familiar setup.

We Also Made the Heads Heavier

Club length wasn't the only thing we wanted to rethink.

Knockout wedges feature heads that are approximately 3% heavier than standard.

Why?

We wanted the club to feel substantial through impact.

The additional head weight is designed to promote a stable, controlled feel and help golfers let the club do more of the work instead of trying to manipulate every wedge shot.

It's a simple philosophy:

Less manipulation. More confidence.

And Yes, We Wanted Plenty of Spin

A wedge still needs to perform like a wedge.

That's why Knockout wedges feature deep, aggressive grooves designed to generate spin, bite, and stopping power around the green.

Because consistency is great.

But watching a wedge hit the green and stop is pretty damn fun too.

Who Are Same Length Wedges For?

Knockout wedges aren't designed around what a scratch golfer thinks a wedge is supposed to be.

In fact, some scratch golfers may hate the idea.

That's okay.

We built them for the golfer who wants to simplify the hardest part of the game.

The golfer who doesn't practice five days a week.
